About Teacup Puppies:

First of all, let me start off buy telling you the that the word “teacup” is not referring to a new breed. It’s just a name given by a breeder to describe an extra small dog. Each breeder seems to have their own idea of what a teacup should weigh, but most agree that they should not weigh over 4 pounds and when full grown their height should be under 8 inches.  A true Teacup puppy can weigh only 2 pounds, and yes, they can actually fit inside of a teacup, although I wouldn’t suggest you doing this because it’s not very comfortable for the puppy. There are only a few breeds that come in teacup size The most commons ones are the Poodle, Maltese, Chihuahua, Yorkie, Terrier, Pug and the Pomeranian, but the most popular from what I see is the poodle and the ever popular Yorkie.

Learning how and what it takes to care for your teacup puppy is the most important thing you can do for yourself and your little friend. Their size is what makes these puppies look so adorable, but it’s also why they’re so fragile as well. Care of Teacups covers many aspects and includes safety, nutrition, health and socialization.
